In a significant move, the European Union has banned the use of certain chemicals commonly found in gel nail polish due to their potential health risks. These substances, identified as endocrine disruptors, interfere with hormonal balance and have long-term health implications for women.
Recently, I have followed this news closely and have seen comments on social media like:
– “It’s inevitable that everyone will die one day, and I’d rather have my nails done.”
– “Tobacco and alcohol are still available despite knowing they kill.”
Despite my experience as a dermal clinician, I must admit that it delights me that this article is coming out. I am happy that information is now available to help you make an informed health decision. Making healthy choices is possible.
As a professional, I have worked with nail polish, varnish, and shellac throughout the years. However, these days, since I suffer from endometriosis, I have had to eliminate any items at home that could cause inflammation from my daily habits. One of those items was my shellac routine, because I really wanted to become pregnant. It included perfumes, fragrances, candles, detergents, cleaning products, and I opted for a more natural skincare routine to support my skin.
As I debrief my story, coincidentally or not, I have also struggled with hormonal issues and difficulty conceiving. These days, I barely tolerate nail salon smells due to my high sensitivity to varnish and acetone. And believe it or not, as I have witnessed my endometriosis symptoms reducing, my journey to motherhood has begun.
Currently, I advocate a more natural approach to beauty. I encourage clients to live a healthier and more sustainable approach to aging skin and maintenance with minimal exposure to toxic ingredients. By adapting and restructuring their skincare routines, clients can minimise toxic ingredients and support their skin’s health at the same time.
Since I have always been passionate about skin and nails, I have created the Bare Hands Skin Rejuvenation Package. This is for all ladies who wish to embrace natural nail style and pamper their hands!
The package’s formulation focuses on natural, non-toxic ingredients that promote nail health without compromising safety. By prioritizing transparency and ingredient integrity, it offers a mindful alternative for those seeking effective nail care solutions without endocrine-disrupting chemicals. A non-invasive solution that enhances the skin’s resilience and smoothness with minimal downtime.
This treatment not only rejuvenates the hands but also promotes long-term nail and cuticle health by avoiding exposure to the harsh chemicals found in conventional nail care products.
The Bare Hands Anti-Aging package follows a three-step process in six weeks to rejuvenate and restore skin.
Fibroblast Therapy: Creates tiny plasma arcs to stimulate the skin’s natural healing process, boosting collagen and elastin production for tighter, smoother skin.
The healing process involves the formation of small scabs around the treated area, which gradually fall off as the skin regenerates. It’s crucial to avoid picking at these scabs to prevent scarring and ensure optimal results. To protect your hands during this time, it’s recommended to keep them moisturized, avoid direct sun exposure, and wear protective gloves when engaging in activities that might expose them to harsh conditions, water, and chemicals.
Skin Needling: Uses fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries, triggering collagen production and enhancing serum absorption for improved texture and firmness.
As the skin heals from needling, it may appear slightly red and feel sensitive, like a mild sunburn for at least three days. To aid in healing, it’s essential to keep the skin moisturized with gentle, hydrating lotions. It’s also wise to avoid harsh skincare products or exfoliants that irritate the area. Additionally, it’s imperative to protect your hands from direct sunlight by using a zinc-based sunscreen and wearing gloves, as UV exposure can hinder healing and compromise results.
Medical-grade peel: Exfoliates dead skin cells, stimulates skin cell regeneration, and restores hydration for a smoother, more youthful appearance. This minimally invasive treatment improves hand aesthetics, cuticle health, and skin resilience with no downtime.
After undergoing a medical-grade peel, it’s imperative to follow proper aftercare to ensure optimal results. Keep the treated area moisturized with a gentle, fragrance-free lotion to prevent dryness and irritation. Avoid sun exposure as much as possible, and apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen daily to protect your baby’s skin from UV damage, which can lead to discoloration. Additionally, avoid using hot water or engaging in activities that cause excessive sweating, as these can irritate the treated skin. Gently pat the area dry after washing and apply a protective balm to maintain hydration and support healing.
You can expect your hands to appear noticeably smoother and more youthful after six weeks, with fewer wrinkles and age spots. As a result, the skin will feel smoother, more resilient, and more hydrated. As a result of the treatment, your nails and cuticles will be healthier, reflecting the overall rejuvenation you have experienced.
For long-lasting results, repeat the treatment every six months to maintain collagen production and skin regeneration. Maintenance every two years ensures youthful and healthy hands.
