Plasma Pen Technology

Low Frequency Plasma

The “Understanding Plasma Pen Fibroblast Treatments” series continues. This quick video explains Plasma Pen Technology. Fibroblast treatments using Plasma Pens require an understanding of the technology behind them.

Plasma Pen Clinic uses the latest technology. Our A|C|C|O|R Cosmetic Corrector (Plasma Pen) generates low frequency plasma. “Low frequency plasma, that’s awesome!” you say.

But what does this really mean? Plasma Pens are flooding the market with different prices and claims of doing the same thing. It’s normal when something original and innovative appears. It is important to note, however, that not all plasma pens are the same. Particularly when discussing non-invasive skin tightening treatments.

Our Plasma Pen creates a plasma arc to convert solid matter (your skin) into a gas without passing through the liquid phase. This process is called sublimation. For now, I won’t delve further into sublimation because it can get quite technical and geeky (extremely interesting though! I’ll put together a post for all the curious scientists out there later).

As compared to high frequency plasma pens, low frequency plasma pens produce a more uniform and shallower dot or indentation than pens with high frequency plasma.

Low frequency plasma pens use less energy to penetrate the skin. This allows them to create larger treatment areas without traumatizing the skin. They are also less likely to cause irritation or scarring as the energy is distributed more evenly over a larger area. This is unlike high frequency plasma pens which use more concentrated energy to create a sharper penetration point.

Meaning that we’re applying the treatment to the correct skin layer (see my Plasma Pen Fibroblast Treatments – Skin Layers post), causing the appropriate dose of controlled trauma to stimulate the body’s natural healing mechanisms. For instance, when treating crow’s feet, the Plasma Pen penetrates the top layer of the skin, known as the epidermis. This is done to stimulate the regeneration of new collagen and elastin fibres.

This helps plump out wrinkles and fine lines, creating a younger and rejuvenated look. The combination of the shrinking of the surrounding skin and the increased production of collagen and elastin creates the skin tightening and skin rejuvenation that you desire. Low frequency plasma guarantees less downtime and quality results.

I hope this post has helped you understand Plasma Pen Fibroblast treatments a little better and more specifically the technology behind the treatment.

Now that you have this knowledge, you should be able to make an informed decision about whether it is the right treatment for you.

Alternatively, you can always consult our Plasma Pen Expert professional for advice.

See you then!
