Scars can tell stories, but sometimes they are stories we would rather not display. For those seeking smoother, healthier skin, Plasma Pen Fibroblast Therapy offers a groundbreaking non-surgical solution. This guide walks you through how the treatment works, what to expect at each stage of healing, and the real results it can deliver.
Unlike traditional scar treatments such as laser therapy, chemical peels, surgical revision, and ablative resurfacing, the Plasma Pen uses a non-invasive method that stimulates the skin's natural healing process without damaging surrounding tissue. It offers a quicker healing period, less discomfort, and greater precision, making it an ideal choice for targeting specific areas with minimal risk of hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation.
Clinical studies on the Plasma Pen began on 27 August 2019. A photo taken six years later, on 24 December 2025, highlights the lasting impact of a single session of Fibroblast Scar Therapy combined with Skin Needling, smooth skin texture, reduced scar visibility, and long-term rejuvenation through continued collagen stimulation.
Fibroblast Scar Therapy
A small handheld device generates a plasma arc just above the skin's surface, creating tiny micro-injuries without direct contact. This prompts the body's natural healing response and stimulates fibroblast cells to produce collagen and elastin. The skin gradually repairs itself, reducing scar appearance and improving texture over time.
Skin Needling
Also known as microneedling, this treatment creates controlled micro-injuries on the skin's surface to further enhance collagen production and improve skin texture. When combined with Plasma Pen, Skin Needling boosts the overall effectiveness of treatment leading to more pronounced and rapid improvements in scar visibility and skin rejuvenation.

Treatment Day
Numbing cream is applied, then the Plasma Pen creates precise treatment points across the scar area. Small carbon crusts form immediately as part of the healing response.
Days 1–7: Active Healing
Mild swelling and redness are normal. Carbon crusts dry and begin to shed naturally, do not pick or scratch them. Fresh skin underneath may appear pink or brown as it transitions.
Weeks 2–6: Collagen Building
The skin continues to remodel beneath the surface. Texture improvements become more visible as new collagen fibres develop. Colour transitions may continue during this phase.
Months 2–3 and Beyond: Final Results
Collagen production continues long after the visible healing phase. Many clients see their best results 8–12 weeks after treatment, with ongoing improvement for up to a year depending on individual healing.
Different skin types can significantly affect the healing process following Fibroblast Scar Therapy and Skin Needling.
One of our clients came to us with a hypertrophic scar resulting from the surgical removal of melanoma from her left breast. A combination of deep tissue injury and poor surgical stitching had left the scar red, raised, and highly visible is a constant daily reminder of the procedure she had undergone.
Before treatment, she experienced self-consciousness and frustration. The scar affected her clothing choices, her confidence in social situations, and her overall sense of wellbeing.
Following Plasma Pen treatment, the scar softened significantly over time. Its texture and visibility both improved, and the treatment also reduced the number of superficially broken capillaries in the area. She was able to wear clothes she had previously avoided, and the emotional burden of the scar was replaced by a renewed appreciation for her smoother, healthier-looking skin.
“The Plasma Pen is not just about aesthetics, it's about confidence.”
The benefits of Plasma Pen scar treatment extend well beyond physical appearance. Clients often experience a meaningful boost in self-esteem and a reduction in anxiety related to skin imperfections. This renewed confidence can lead to a more positive outlook, improved social interactions, and a greater willingness to engage in activities previously avoided due to self-consciousness. Whether addressing surgical scars or other skin irregularities, the treatment offers a non-invasive path to smoother, healthier skin and the confidence that comes with it.
